Shoe Museum · Franca/SP
About the project
The Shoe Museum is an independent platform to preserve, organize and share the memory of Franca's footwear industry, honoring workers, companies, families, brands, objects, documents, stories and the future of a city that keeps shoemaking Brazil and the world.
Mission
To preserve, organize and share the memory of Franca's footwear industry, honoring workers, companies, families, brands, objects, documents and stories — with careful review and accessible language.
Vision
To be a national reference in digital footwear memory: a living, community-driven and editorial archive connecting history, culture, tourism, education and innovation around Franca.
Manifesto
Franca did not only make shoes. It made paths, jobs, families, memories and identity. This project exists to safeguard that living history, recognize those who built and still build, and show that Franca's footwear keeps walking across Brazil and the world.
Positioning
An independent cultural platform with a contemporary museum look and high-quality editorial design. It does not replace official institutions — it complements collective memory with transparency about sources and careful review.
Independent platform
The Shoe Museum is an independent initiative. It does not officially represent the City of Franca, Unifran, Sindifranca or any other institution. It acts as an open space for memory, culture and community, with careful review and source transparency.
This project is not only about the past. It documents the present — active factories, workers, brands and exports — and projects a future for education, tourism, innovation and cultural preservation.
